WARRANTY TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please read these warranty terms before installing or using the differential or differential centre. These terms are supplied
with the unit.
1. Warranty Period
Second-hand unit: 1 month
Serviced or rebuilt unit: 3 months
Reconditioned unit: 6 months
New unit: manufacturer’s voluntary warranty where applicable, as stated on the invoice.
Unless otherwise stated on the invoice, second-hand units are supplied with a parts-only warranty. This voluntary
warranty is in addition to any rights or remedies under the Australian Consumer Law.
2. Warranty Claims and Repairs
Cruiser Spares Pty Ltd must be contacted before any warranty repair, dismantling or alteration is undertaken. The unit
must not be dismantled, opened, altered or repaired without our prior written consent. We must be given a reasonable
opportunity to inspect the unit and determine the cause of failure.
Where Cruiser Spares Pty Ltd supplied the differential only and did not install it, our voluntary warranty does not include
labour costs for removal, installation or refitting. Freight, towing, removal and refitting costs are not automatically included
under this voluntary warranty.
Nothing in this clause excludes any costs or remedies that Cruiser Spares Pty Ltd is legally required to provide under the
Australian Consumer Law.
3. Warranty Exclusions
a) insufficient, incorrect or contaminated oil or lubricant;
b) incorrect installation, adjustment, backlash, bearing preload or assembly;
c) blocked or incorrectly fitted differential breathers, water ingress or contamination;
d) misuse, overloading, shock loading, excessive towing loads, accidents or negligence;
e) modified engines, substantially increased engine power, oversized tyres or other drivetrain modifications which materially
increase loads on the differential;
f) racing, timed or competitive events, burnouts, rock crawling, rock climbing, competition four-wheel driving or similar extreme
use;
g) continued operation after abnormal noise, vibration, oil loss or another indication of differential failure became apparent.
4. Broken Gear Teeth and Shock-Loading Damage
Broken teeth on the crown wheel, pinion, differential centre gears or other internal gears are not covered by this
voluntary warranty where the damage is consistent with shock loading, wheelspin followed by sudden traction,
overloading, abuse or other misuse.
Broken or fractured gears, teeth, shafts or differential-centre components may be treated as evidence of shock loading or
misuse where inspection of the components and surrounding damage supports that conclusion.
Where inspection confirms that the failure was caused by shock loading, overloading, abuse or misuse, the voluntary
warranty for that failure is void.
This clause does not exclude any rights the purchaser may have under the Australian Consumer Law where the failure
was caused by a defect in the supplied product rather than misuse.
5. Oil Leaks – Second-Hand Units
Minor oil seepage or minor oil leaks consistent with the age and condition of a second-hand differential are not covered
by this voluntary warranty.
6. Duty to Minimise Further Damage
At the first indication of abnormal noise, vibration, oil loss or other possible differential malfunction, the customer must
cease operation as soon as reasonably safe and contact Cruiser Spares Pty Ltd. Damage caused or substantially
increased by continued operation after a fault became apparent may be excluded from the voluntary warranty.
7. Making a Warranty Claim
Warranty claims should be submitted to:
